A traditional cottage garden favourite, Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) is a tall and charming plant with delicate, freckled flowers. These biennial seeds grow leafy rosettes in their first year before sending up tall flower spikes in the second.
Sow Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) seeds in spring or early summer, either in trays or directly into the soil. They grow well in partial shade and well-drained soil, so they are best planted in woodland edges or mixed borders, where their height and colour can truly shine. Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) seeds combine particularly well with wildflower seeds and other shade-loving perennial seeds.
Foxgloves also make excellent cut flowers, adding height to vases and borders. Cut the stems when the lower blooms begin to open, remove any excess foliage, and place them in water straight away for best results.

Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and position plants in dappled shade or full sun. Once your Foxglove seedlings are well established, transplant them to their final position in autumn for flowering the following year.
