FAQs

Yes, Osteospermum Serenity is a tender or half-hardy perennial plant, meaning it will bloom year after year if properly cared for. However, it may need protection during colder months, particularly in regions with frost. In milder areas, it may overwinter successfully outdoors with adequate shelter and mulching, but in very cold climates it is best treated as an annual or brought indoors for protection.

Osteospermum Serenity should be planted outdoors after the risk of frost has passed, typically from mid-May onwards in the UK. Young plants should be grown indoors or in a greenhouse and then gradually introduced to the outdoors once the weather warms, while garden-ready plants can be planted directly into their flowering positions.

In winter, Osteospermum Serenity requires protection in frost-prone areas. For outdoor plants, apply a thick layer of mulch to insulate the roots. Alternatively, lift the plants and transfer them to pots to overwinter indoors in a cool, bright, and frost-free location. Water sparingly during this period to prevent root rot, as the plant’s growth slows significantly in cooler temperatures.
