Product Details

Veronica gentianoides, or gentian speedwell, is a delightful perennial with spires of pale blue flowers carried on erect stems above a mat of deep green leaves. Its elegant, vertical form makes it perfect for the mid-border, where it adds both height and a serene touch to your garden.

The soft blue blooms are subtly fragrant, bringing a quiet sense of beauty to your garden or home. Easy to grow, Veronica gentianoides thrives in moist, well-drained soil and prefers partial to full sun. It’s a great option for both borders and containers, offering versatility and charm.

Pair with Lavender plants, Lily bulbs, Salvia plants, or Geraniumsto complement its calming colour and texture for a well-rounded garden display.

As a cut flower, the slender stems and spires create graceful arrangements. To prolong their vase life, cut the stems just as the flowers begin to open and place them in fresh water.

FAQs

To grow Veronica gentianoides, plant it in well-drained soil in a sunny spot. Water the plant regularly, but avoid waterlogging the soil. Once the plant is established, it requires little care. You can grow it from seeds, cuttings, or divisions.

Plant Veronica gentianoides in early spring or autumn–so long as the soil isn’t frozen and the last frost has passed. Pick a time when the soil is warm and workable instead. Planting in spring helps the plant settle early, while autumn planting allows it to establish before winter.

Yes, Veronica gentianoides can spread over time. It grows in clumps that get larger each year. To keep it in check, divide the plant every few years.
