Allium caeruleum Flower Bulbs produce striking spherical heads of vivid blue, star-shaped flowers on slender upright stems. Their unusual colour adds a refreshing contrast to purple, pink and white late-spring planting and gives borders an architectural lift.
Supplied as a pack of 20 bulbs, plants reach around 60cm (24in) and flower from May to June. The flowers are excellent for cutting and are highly attractive to pollinators. Plant from September to November in free-draining soil in full sun.
Bulb size: 5/6
Bulb sizes are measured by circumference in centimetres. A 5/6 bulb measures approximately 5-6cm around. Larger bulbs generally contain more stored energy, helping to support strong growth and an impressive flowering display.
