Fritillaria imperialis Rubra has wonderful rich orange blooms. Tall and very statuesque, the crown imperials really are the jewels in the crown of the fritillary world. Often grown as key, statement bulbs for spring planting schemes, they are strong and sturdy, bearing whorls of bell-shaped flowers under lush, green crowns of foliage. Grow in rich, well-drained soil in full sun or part shade.
