FAQs

Plant Geum ‘Totally Tangerine’ in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. It does best in rich, fertile soil and benefits from regular watering, particularly during dry spells. Adding organic matter at planting time helps to improve soil structure and retain moisture. Space plants 30-40cm (12-16in) apart to allow room for growth. Once established, Geum ‘Totally Tangerine’ is low-maintenance but benefits from occasional feeding with a general-purpose fertiliser in spring to support strong flowering.

Remove spent blooms as soon as they fade, cutting the stem back to a healthy leaf or side shoot. This encourages fresh flower buds to form and keeps your Geums blooming for longer – well into summer. If the plant begins to look untidy in late summer, lightly trimming back some of the older stems can help promote new growth and keep the plant neat.

Geum ‘Totally Tangerine’ pairs beautifully with other perennial plants, particularly those with contrasting colours or complementary textures. It works well alongside purple flowering plants such as Salvia, Allium, and Nepeta, which highlight its warm orange tones.
