Lobelia Crystal Palace Seeds

Lobelia Crystal Palace is a perennial plant that is grown as an annual in the UK. As it is easy to grow from seed, flowers in its first year and does not tolerate the cold, this plant is generally grown from seeds every year just like an annual. 

Lobelia can come back every year if it is in a suitable climate. However, the UK climate, with its frost, will kill Lobelia plants, so they should be resown every year. They can self-sow readily, however, which may give the appearance of them being perennial.

Start seeds indoors somewhere warm around 8 weeks before the last expected frost. Scatter seeds thinly in a tray of fine seed compost and press them firmly into the surface. Thin out your seedlings when they are big enough to handle and plant them out after the risk of frost has passed.
