Patch Repair Grass Seed 250g With No Ryegrass

A special blend of fine-leaved grasses. Includes chewings fescue, creeping red fescue and browntop bents. These combine to produce a dense, rich lawn of the finest quality that will withstand close mowing. Ideal for repairing ornamental and show lawns.

Patch Repair without ryegrass is a blend of 20% chewings fescues, 75% strong creeping red fescues and 5% browntop bents.

Covers 7m².

Areas left bare through wear and weeding can be reseeded as follows:

Preparation
Loosen the surface of the soil by firmly raking it in a criss-cross pattern.
Remove any surface stones and weeds.
Firm and level the surface by close treading over the whole area. Then rake until the soil surface is fine.
If possible, leave the area for a week or two. Level any uneven areas and remove any weeds that appear.

Sowing
Shake the box before sowing. Sow half the seeds along the area and half across the area to give even coverage.
Sow at a rate of 35g per square metre.
Lightly rake in the seeds. If no rain falls within a week, water thoroughly with a fine spray.
Keep moist until well established. Young grass will appear within 14 to 21 days.
Weeds may appear from the soil. These will be killed off with mowing.

Lawncare
If the weather is dry, keep the soil moist with regular watering using a fine spray.
Keep off the lawn until the grass is 5 to 8cm high.
The first cut can be made at this stage, removing no more than one third of the growth.

When to sow: March to October. Autumn sowing usually gives the best results when the soil is moist and warm.
