Product DescriptionOverview and what to expect

Rose Cardinal De Richelieu (Shrub) Bare Root Plants bring dramatic colour to shady spots with intensely dark purple flowers that reflex into almost spherical shapes. This historic variety, dating back to 1847, combines elegant blooms with dark green leaves and a few thorns, making it a distinctive cut flower. Suited to full shade, its upright, bushy habit provides depth and interest where light is limited.

Shrub Rose: Shrub Roses are usually the largest of the bush roses. They are great for back of borders or dividing spaces in the garden with a mounding spreading shape. Usually their flowers are large and can be single, semi or double flowering. Their flowers are produced all the way along their stems giving a fantastic display for a long period and can be highly fragrant too.

These roses are supplied as 2 year old bare root plants with 2 to 3 breaks.

Planting advice: Plant bare root roses outdoors from October to March. Choose a sunny or partially shaded spot with well-drained soil. Dig a hole large enough to accommodate the roots comfortably, soak the roots in water before planting, and cover the graft union just below soil level. Water well after planting and mulch to retain moisture.
