Product Details

An award winning, biodegradable, environmentally friendly and sustainable alternative to plastic plant pots.

Why Use Wool Pots?
SUSTAINABLE - Sheep eat grass and grow wool, each year they are shorn to keep them cool in summer they then eat grass and produce more wool.

ENVIROMENTALLY FRIENDLY - Sheep walk around our hills and dales keeping the grass down and fertilising future grass growth as they go. There are no chemicals involved, no intensive farming processes and wool is the natural by product.

BIODEGRADABLE - You dig a hole and pop the whole pot into it and after it's protected the plant it turns into delicious bio rich food, whilst protecting your plant from slugs.

CLEAN & GREEN - Our pots are woven from raw washed wool so there are no chemicals and minimal biodegradable packaging.

Why Wool?

• Retains Water

• Promotes Root Growth and Strength above a plastic pot

• A natural slug and snail deterrent

• Strong and long lasting

• When planted out, it decomposes into a bio rich plant food

The most common size pots used are 9cm & 13cm due to the stretchy nature of wool, Wool Pots cover both these key sizes.

The Wool Pots are 9.5 cm wide and 18cm deep

BBC Gardeners' World Endorsement

'BBC Gardeners' World Live were keen to find an enterprising company enthusiastic about using alternatives to plastic pots.

So many farmers are finding it difficult to find a value for wool, it is great to have access to a natural product adapted to this use. We were pleased that Wool Pots could educate our visitors at the repotting point at BBC Gardeners' World Live.

Over 5,000 plastic pots were exchanged in the four days of the show taking home plants in a more sustainable option, the Wool Pots team pulled out all the stops to inform show visitors about making sustainable choices for the future.

We were delighted to have "Wool Pots" at the show'.

Eden Project Endorsement

The Eden Project's National Wildflower Centre and Horticultural Therapy team have been working with Wool Pots and have been amazed with the results - "plants grown in Wool Pots out performed all other types of plant pots used in our trial."

Wool pots

They are just the thing, I think. I gave half a dozen to a friend and she was thrilled.

Very good idea

First time I have used these. Keeps the plant roots nicely together for planting out and it also seems to keep the slugs and snails at bay.
